Creative Writing Contest

To celebrate the rich diversity and talent of Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the heritage month’s steering committee hosted a writing contest for all 7th to 12th grade students in Los Angeles County. The contest allowed students an opportunity to study the City’s heritage and celebrate its history through their creativity in written form while exploring the theme of “Honoring our Pioneers and Uniting Future Generations.”

First Place Winners for all divisions received Dell Laptop Computers, Disneyland Tickets and IPod Nano’s. Second and third place winners received Sony Digital Readers as well as Disneyland tickets.

Thank you to our sponsors: The Walt Disney Company, Time Warner Cable, The Nielsen Company, ABC 7, P.A.C.E. and Farmer’s Insurance.
